Masterclass 5 with Simona Strete-Rad
Class Name: Design Creation- Structure, Creativity and Colour Choices That Work

The goal is to remove confusion around creating a design and build a clear foundation you can rely on, no matter the subject, theme, or situation. Let’s look at design creation in a way that actually works for us as face painters. Instead of starting with a blank face and hoping inspiration shows up, we will organize the design process into clear steps that make it easier to know where to start, how to move forward, and how to make decisions along the way. We will work through the design process step by step, using practical methods to generate ideas, develop them, and turn them into complete designs. Rather than staying in abstract concepts, we’ll focus on actions you can take while painting to spark ideas and build a design with clarity. Color plays a major role in this process. We will approach color as a tool for strength and impact, examining how certain combinations consistently create bold, impressive designs. You’ll work with concrete examples, reliable palettes, and color directions that can be reused across different designs, helping you make color choices with more confidence. Throughout the class, we will analyze examples, build variations, and explore how one idea can be adapted, expanded, or simplified depending on the context. The aim is to leave you with a clear way of creating designs and the confidence to make decisions without second-guessing yourself.

Masterclass 6 with Simona Strete-Rad
One Stoke Mastery

The goal is to remove confusion around one stroke and build a solid foundation that allows you to confidently approach any design that uses this technique, whether it’s delicate, bold, or crazy fast.

et’s understand one stroke in a way that actually works for us as face painters. Instead of painting random strokes and hoping they give the result we want, we will organise strokes into clear categories that make it easier to know what to do, how to do it, and when to use them in a design.

You will constantly alternate between explanation and hands-on application. As each stroke category is introduced, we immediately use it in demonstrations and painted designs, so you can see exactly how those strokes behave in real situations. We will work through simple strokes first and gradually move into more complex ones, practicing them in isolation before introducing them into designs.

Along the way, we will explore roses, butterflies, high-impact designs that rely on speed, and practical one-stroke tricks (ghost technique included). We’ll also look closely at how brush choice affects the result and how to use different brushes to achieve cleaner, softer, or sharper strokes, depending on what you need.

You will leave with clarity on one stroke and an understanding of the small details that are often overlooked but make a huge difference.
